THE ARTIST & SCULPTOR KELD MOSEHOLM

"The Emperor´s New Clothes" 1998 - Brandts Klædefabrik, Odense

"Sur une chaise" 1981, Monaco - Keld's daughter sat model for this sculpture
Say the name Keld Moseholm, and people worldwide will think of small round men in bronze, standing, walking, lying down and sitting, while they try to do something difficult.

Inside the large abandoned school building that Bente and Keld has restored, ruling the abnormal order for an artist's home. And beyond - the studios, in the courtyard gardens, fruit gardens - and cut slots - rules that all the wonderful mess that a creative mind could ever want.

Many of the sculptures that have been sent from Funen to Australia and "Sculpture by the Sea" during the past 10 years has been sold. Whether the cities - or to private collectors. Such as the deceased Prince Rainer of Monaco. Keld's sculpture, "girl on the chair" standing in the park around the palace in Monaco.

Serious and Fun are two important topics in sculptors Keld Moseholm's art. With subtle humor he dribbles the big questions of existence in his works, where tragicomic and farce get mixed all the time, so you do not know where one ends and another begins. Existence unbearable lightness and heaviness reflected in Keld's figures, mainly of granite, steel and bronze.

Keld Moseholm Jørgensen was born 26 April 1936 in Freltofte on Funen. Keld and his wife Bente has for many years had their home in the same village where my husband and I have our property on Funen, but currently they live in Dyreborg near Faaborg. When his brother is still our closest neighbor, it is not hard to find Keld's fun sculptures.

Keld works with naturalistic sculptures, especially female figures and children. He has since the beginning of the 1980s worked with sculptures in which "the little fat men" frolicking in different ways. This changed his artistic character in three ways: It was humorous, ironic and narrative.

Most of Keld sculptures depicting situations that are part of and requires a narrative progression. His sculptures are the representations of our desire for power, puffy self-image and malice towards others. But they also manufacture our restless enterprise and our reckless throwing out the projects that seem hopeless. At the same time allows Keld to repeal the law of gravity, when "the little fat men" are going to solve the impossible tasks. His sculptures often represent a fragile magic that is hard to believe, but that still limits the audience.
Welcome to Keld's reality. It is similar to the confusion which you can see in your own mirror each day.
