Weekend Roundup
After a challenging week, it was nice to get away to the family home for some down time and relaxation. As expected, but not hoped for, the building costs are hitting "blow out" territory, with news the pool builders have issues with the state of the soil below ground and are now claiming an additional $8,000 in extra costs for formwork. And so it begins.....
Pool builders make good progress on day one before hitting a sewer pipe, rock and sand! Equates to budget increase of 20% on pool!
Thankfully we have my parent's beautiful farm to retreat to for some much needed R&R. It's so wonderful for the kids and us to take to Mum's veggie garden to pick some delicious and home-grown lemons, rocket and herbs.
Our gorgeous dog Fergus has been staying at the farm while we rent. He's a Cocker/Cavalier cross and absolutely loves life on the farm, swimming in the dam, chasing foxes and getting covered in mud.
The golf buggy was one of the best investments Mum and Dad ever made, not just for ease of getting around 100 acres but it has entertained and amused the grandchildren for the past ten years. Its appeal never wanes, for humans or dogs.
A few twilight images from the garden. Despite it being the middle of winter, it has a distinct beauty at every time of the year and is a great source of inspiration for an amateur photographer like me.
And so to bed....making a cubby is exhausting business!
