Cookbooks I'm loving....Winter
As the winter turns colder I find myself turning to winter inspired soul-satisfying, heart-warming, tummy-filling, comfort food. I love winter food - soups, stews, casseroles, tagines, braises and bakes. It's wholesome, hearty, nutritious, delicious and generally non-slimming. But I always feel I can go back for a second helping because that extra layer of clothing can hide a multitude of sins.
It's a bit of a challenge coming up with meals at the moment though, as we are a self-imposed carb-free household, which makes the more yummy wintery treats like mash, polenta, pasta, potatoes, noodles and rice off limits. Not much to live for I know.
I'm a bit of a simpleton when it comes to recipes and cookbooks and generally unless it has a photo that whets my appetite and shows me what I'm aiming for, I don't feel motivated to make it. So the likes of Donna Hay and the Women's Weekly are my go-to cookbooks 5 out of 7 nights a week.
